Driving Rules and Regulations in USA

Speed limits:
Speed limits are different in different states but usually maximum allowable speed on highways is 65 to 70 miles per hour. Maximum allowed speed in Washington, D.C and Hawaii is 55 miles per hours. In western states with wide highways, such as New Mexico  Idaho, south Dakota and Wyoming the speed limit is up to 75 mph. If you will not follow these speed limits you could be jailed for 15 days.

Traffic Signs
When approaching a four way intersection at the same time as another driver to your right, you should allow him to go first. If you are the person on the right, you get priority. At a four-way or two-way intersection in which you and the person across from you arrive at the same time, the person who is not turning is given the right of way. Although the situation does not arise often outside of large urban areas, if you are driving on a one-way street in which traffic flows to the left, you are allowed to turn left even if the light is red as long there are no signs posted to the contrary.

Traffic Signals
American traffic signals work with a three-light system in which red means stop, green means go and yellow means slow down. In most states you can turn right on red after stopping, unless there is a visible sign warning against that. A flashing red light should be treated as a stop sign, meaning that the driver needs to come to a stop and check for the right of way. A flashing yellow does not mean you have to come to a stop, but you should slow down in case of oncoming traffic.

City Road Laws
Cities have legal jurisdiction over road rules and speed limits within their boundaries. Speed limit signs are posted along all roads. The driving speed is usually 40 mph for multi-lane thru streets and 30 mph in residential areas. Expect to slow down to 15 mph in school zones where signs are posted and flashing lights are operational during school hours.

Right Side of the Road
Americans drive on the right side of the road when there is traffic going in two directions. Most foreign countries follow this convention, but it can take some getting used to for drivers from those countries where the car is driven on the left side of the road. In addition, passing is always done to the left even when there is a large amount of shoulder space on the right in which to pass.

For car parks servicing a particular company, you usually have to be a customer to use them. For most car parks there's a time restraint on how long you can stay.In most car parks, there is a tariff board on display at the entrance which tells you how much it costs to park. The cost usually rises with every hour of your stay, and you pay on the way out.

Stop Car Without brake

Now cars are coming with so many built in safety features but remember car is a piece of machinery that works with moving of thousands parts and everyone know that machinery can brake down. Sometimes you feel that you lose grip of your car and car brakes don't work even if you try to put the car to full stop. Now there is only one option that you stop your car without brakes. It might seem to be impossible, but if you will use some certain techniques then you can definitely stop the car. Here are some methods to stop the car.

Don't Panic, Try to maintain presence of mind:

If you will get nervous, your reflexes will consequently become shaky and the more you'll not be able to maneuver the car. Overreacting will make this situation more dangerous. With alert thinking and calm approach you can think clearly and act appropriately.

Shift into first Gear:

If you have modern car and equipped with full manual transmission system then it will be easy to shift gears to slow down the car. Shifting into lower gears helps slow you by using your engine to slow car. If you have an automatic transmission , downshift a gear at a time into low range. Be careful, don't downshift too quickly, downshift rapidly. This method works by using the compression phase of an engine to slow down the car.

Pump your brakes:
continuously pumping of the brakes many times may rebuild enough pressure in the braking system for you to stop it will help control the speed of the car until you come to a full stop. If your car is going on high speed and you realize too late it's brakes are not working, chances of accident will increase. Don't panic in this situation especially when are not being able to stop the car, but keep pumping on the brakes until you are able to slow it down.

Emergency brake:
Generally emergency brake can stop a vehicle but it will take longer than usual to come to a stop cause it only stops the rear wheels. There are two types of emergency brakes, first one is the brake that can be activated by hand and the second can be activate by foot. The use of emergency brakes can be dangerous so you should do this carefully because a sudden step on the brake might cause the car to spin and worse, turn over. The wheels might shut in and the more you will lose control.

How to get cheap car insurance

It has become much expensive to have own car. You not only have to buy a car, but you also have to insure your car and pay other tax. car insurance prices are increasing every year due to growing numbers of accidents. although your car insurance depend on your car, age and other things.

Choosing a car:
The main factor in how much your car insurance will cost is the car itself. If you really want to keep the the insurance cost down then keep in mind that the engine size,it's age and value and the make of car,  are all used in calculating insurance quotes. Insurer divide cars into many groups according to many factors including engine size and others things. The higher the insurance group, the higher the premium. So if you'r gonna buy a new car, it pays to check it's rating.

Older and named driver:
If you are new driver and under the age of 25 then must add an experienced driver to your policy to save money. Family member would be the best option, may be a parent or grandparent with a excellent driving record will be happy to go for the car insurance policy too. But do this carefully make it sure that you don't mark one of these drivers as the main driver of the car.

Buying car insurance online:
Now many insurance companies offer discount to those customers who buy their insurance online  Mostly peoples don't buy online insurance policy cause it is risky but now it is no more risky their all payment pages on insurance sites are protected by encryption technology. Your transaction detail are safe and in minutes you can print your newly purchased policy.

Car parking:
Mostly thefts of cars occurs at night, so if it's possible to park your care safe and more secured then please do it. if it's not possible , at least try and park the car off the road. This can save you 5 percent on your car insurance.

Reduce mileage:
It is common sense that if you will drive less then there are less chances of accident than who drives more. If you drive your car only on local roads at weekend, then there are less likely to be involved in an accident. May be each company have their own rules on mileage but on the whole the industry normally work with concept that annual mileage falls into one of the following categories. 3000, 5000, 8000, 10000, 12000, 15000, 20000. Talk to your insurer about your driving routine and habits cause a low mileage generally leads to a low premium.

Female car:
Generally women are safer drivers than men, and because of this insurance companies will offer much car insurance for females. If the family car is used equally by the husband and the wife, then it could make sense to have the female as the main driver on the insurance policy.

Car insurance is necessary - Insurance benefits - advantages

There are many riders hitting the road every month. With a lots of vehicles on the road, accident can happen. Car insurance protects you from being financially responsible for any accident. In almost all countries you must have car insurance if you want to drive on the road and without you can be fined, there are many hard penalties even they can send you jail. If you get into a car accident and this was your mistake then you have to put the claim through your insurance. So it means that your insurance company will pay the damages to the vehicle and also medical expenses. Without car insurance you can be sent to jail for injuring someone in an accident.

There are many companies who offer car insurance so you have to research which is best for your specific needs. car insurance has many types of policies and coverage so you have to make sure when you buy your car insurance that the monthly premium will fit into your budget and also that you are getting the right amount of coverage for your car.

The percentage of accidents is increasing in any urban even also in rural areas. Actually, you can find yourself in an accident even if this was not your mistake. A car insurance policy would keep you protected from the financial emergencies cause by accidental damage  No matter the accident happened because of you or some other driver.

You may have garages, paid parking or if you have more secured parking then may be you park your car in your basement but still you can say with assurity that your car will never be stolen. There is only way to ensure that you will not suffer any monetary loss in the event that your vehicle is lost is to invest in the car insurance policy that insures you against the theft of a car.

Some peoples think that they are best driver and they drive safely and there is no chance of accident for them then this is totally wrong think cause you should understand that you are not only driver on the road there are many other drivers on road, who would not be as good driver as you are. Unfortunately if your car is involved in any accident with other one you would need to endure the most of the expenses, unless you want to hire lawyer, who will definitely charge you something. so, to ensure that you don't face monetary loss in the face of a road accident with another vehicle, you should invest in your car insurance.

When an accident happens, the towing and removal of the car is also covered by the insurance company, this point is not much important but still this cost has to be considered.

How to buy a car - Car buying tips

Cars are much expensive even it's used also. Generally it is the second largest purchase after your house. It can be more stressful to buy a car.  So buying car is not like buying other goods you should do a little research before buying. So here are some tips and advice for buying new car, might be these will be useful for you.

Fix your budget:
First point is what is your budget. Now this is more important point that how much you can pay for the car. Tell your final budget to the seller or dealer if he is not agree with that you must have to walk away, if there is little difference in your budget and demanded price then may be you will get call from the dealer agreeing to your terms.

What's your need:
Now in this point you have to know that what is your need in car. Means what kind of car do you want. If you have a large family then obviously you need to have lots of seating. Do you want a 4x4? Think about your current needs and about your future needs. If you are thinking about starting a family then a sports car might not be the right choice.

Total cost of car including all accessory and insurance
My advice for average peoples that you choose a car that is minimum ten percent less than your monthly budget to give yourself some room to cover costs, like car insurance, fuel cost, repair and maintenance cost.

Be serious:
If you will show that you are serious in buying then dealer will work harder to get the deal. But , don't come across as desperate to buy as this could reduce your chances of picking up a bargain.

Negotiate
Once you have find that car that you want in your budget range then now it's time to start negotiating the best deal possible. Negotiations is an important part of the new car buying tips as most of the time you need to negotiate immensely on trade-in value, dealer incentives, car loans and for a new car price as well.

Best time to buy
In the days of Christmas and other occasions,  dealers wants to haggle down to your price as not many auto get sold at that time with many buying gifts to buy for your friends and relatives. July and October is also right time to get best deal.

Take a test drive:
Just as you would not buy a pair of shoes until you try it first, you also should not buy a car without taking test drive. A test drive is an integral part of any car deal  You should take test drive with a knowledgeable friend or with any mechanic.

How to remove car sticker

These days decals are getting more popular cause of their use of advertising purpose. So now
every person is using his own sticker to make his company popular even sellers and dealers also. Due
to these stickers your car get coverd but no one like everyone wants his car neat and clean. Also if you want
to sell your car and unfortunatly there is a sticker on car bumper or anywhere with something bad sign. So now here are two methods to remove all kind of stickers. Let me clear the different types of these stickers.

Temporary Sticker
Permanent Sticker
Very tough Sticker

First Method:
This is easy method to remove Sticker. First of try to peeling sticker carefully with razor or finger. You can also heat it to loosen but be careful it can melt the sticker.

Now spray lubricant into the sticker. WD 40 lubricant is prefered but you can also use any other like Triflow. This should release the seal of the bumper sticker and allow you to continue peeling.

Keep spraying and peeling with finger untill the sticker is completely removed.

Now in the last Wipe down the clean the part to remove excess lubricant.

Second Method:

This is a safe method to remove sticker. In this method must have Hair dryer or heat gun you can also get it at rent.

Turn a hairdryer on high heat and hold it about 6 inches from the sticker and blow the heat directly on the sticker. If you are using heat gun the it must be eight to 10 inches away cause it works much faster than hair dryer. Heat the sticker for few minutes.

When the sticker is loose enough try to lift from corner with fingernail. Don't try to pull up, pull it back otherwise there will be chances to of tearing the sticker, folding the corner over against the face of sticker. If the corner won't lift you can also use blade to get it started.

Continue peeling the sticker back, continue to apply heat as needed. But be careful in applying heat, don't apply constant heat, specially if using a heat gun, as this can melt the sticker.

Once the sticker is completely off, now it is necesary to remove remaining sticky residue. Now apply any automative adhensive cleaner WD 40 or PPG Ditzo DX 440.

At last wipe away with a clean and soft cloth.
